The Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) has commissioned IFF, an independent research agency, in partnership with ACE Research (part of ADE, the Association for Decentralised Energy) to carry out research regarding skills requirements in the Heat Networks sector or other sectors involved with Heat Network projects. The project explores current capability and capacity within the heat networks sector and considers the skills implications for a sector that is likely to experience rapid growth in the UK.

In this current phase of the research, we are looking to speak with individuals about their views of the skills landscape in the Heat Networks sector. These interviews will be via either telephone or face to face, and will take around 45-60 minutes.

We are particularly keen to engage with senior level decision makers across a range of organisations, including Utilities companies, consultants, training providers, Local Authorities, employer representative bodies and more. This might include:
  • Utilities company HR or Training Managers / Directors, i.e. those who would have the best overview of the recruitment, training and skills needs of your staff;
  • Consultants who have worked with organisations on a Heat Network project, e.g. providing legal or financial advice, expertise in urban planning, IT, or control systems;
  • Relevant department heads at colleges and universities, with responsibility for course design and provision
If you would like to be considered for an interview, then please complete this short form, confirming your name, organisation and relevant contact details. If you choose to register, and if you are selected for an interview, someone in the IFF interviewing team will be in touch by telephone in early March to confirm your interview.
